Babai Tiffins Raises ₹15.5 Crore to Scale Andhra Cuisine into a National QSR Brand
Babai Tiffins raises ₹15.5 Cr, including ₹10.5 Cr on Bharat Ke Super Founders, to expand its Andhra QSR brand and scale packaged foods nationally.
Bengaluru-based QSR brand Babai Tiffins, known for its authentic vegetarian Andhra cuisine, has raised a total of ₹15.5 crore, including ₹10.5 crore secured during its appearance on Bharat Ke Super Founders (BKSF) — a business reality show co-created by Recur Club and Rusk Media.
The funding includes ₹2.5 crore in venture debt from Recur Club, making it one of the largest fundraises ever seen on an Indian business reality platform. Hosted by Suniel Shetty, the show premiered on Amazon MX Player on January 24, 2026.
Oversubscribed Deal & Strong Investor Backing
Babai Tiffins’ pitch emerged as one of the most oversubscribed and highly rated of the season, reflecting strong investor interest and market confidence.
The overall funding round was led by Warmup Ventures, co-founded by Sharad Bansal, with participation from:
CDM Capital
Ankur Mittal
Dr. A. Velumani
Ahana Gautam
The funding underscores investor belief in the scalability of regional cuisine brands built on operational discipline and repeat consumption.
From Single Outlet to Structured QSR Brand
Founded by Allu Siva Rama Krishna Reddy and Ravi Morampudi, Babai Tiffins began as a breakfast-focused outlet driven by a shared passion for Andhra home-style food.
Today, the brand operates as a structured QSR model offering:
Andhra-style meals
Tiffins and snacks
Traditional sweets and savouries
Authentic vegetarian comfort food
The company emphasizes speed, consistency, and authenticity — aiming to make Andhra cuisine dependable for everyday dining rather than occasional indulgence.
Strong Unit Economics with Limited Footprint
Despite operating just three outlets in Bengaluru (two dine-in and one cloud kitchen), Babai Tiffins:
Serves close to 2 lakh monthly orders
Operates at an annual revenue run rate of ₹50 crore
Sharad Bansal, Co-founder of Warmup Ventures, commented:
“With just three outlets, it already serves close to 2 lakh monthly orders, reflecting industry-leading per-store throughput and repeat consumption. Andhra cuisine represents a large, under-penetrated opportunity within India’s ₹4+ lakh crore food services market.”
Founders’ Vision: Systems + Taste = Scale
Ravi Morampudi, Co-founder & Spokesperson, said:
“After 15 years in the QSR space, I’ve learned that real growth comes from strong systems and uncompromising taste. At Babai Tiffins, everyone receives the same quality, care, and respect.”
The founders believe operational sustainability — not premium positioning — will drive long-term brand strength.
Expansion Plans: 3 to 10 Outlets
With the fresh capital, Babai Tiffins plans to:
Expand from 3 to 10 outlets over the next two years
Target revenues of ₹150 crore
Strengthen existing operational systems
Launch and scale a packaged foods portfolio
The upcoming packaged line will include:
Andhra podis
Pickles
Sweets
Savouries
This move aims to extend the brand’s everyday food philosophy from restaurants into Indian households.
The Bigger Opportunity
India’s out-of-home dining market is expanding rapidly, with regional cuisines increasingly gaining structured QSR representation.
Babai Tiffins is betting that Andhra cuisine can evolve from a regional favourite into a national, scalable food category — backed by strong unit economics and disciplined expansion.
